If there was ever a question that he lived in heaven up above in the clouds, I can clarify for certain, that it's not true. He or she or it--God--definitely lives here in this ocean...this blue, blue sea.
We arrived safely yesterday to Turks and Caicos after a short and uneventful (thankfully) flight. We stepped off the plane in jeans and sweatshirts and right away we looked like the goofy American tourists that we are!
Our day started in New York at like 4:30 am--but that meant we arrived at our hotel by 11 am and were having lunch by the pool before noon! We played in the ocean, than walked over to the pool to look at the ocean. Then we went back in the ocean and looked over at the pool.
Let me tell you about the service at this place--I feel like a millionaire, no kidding! Every one of the staff is jovial and smiling and helpful and adorable! The cabana boys bring you plates stacked high of cold towels to freshen up with on the beach! And then they come round again with plates stacked high of frozen fruit bites on little sticks! Come ON! The weirdest thing that I have to get used to is that they all refer to me as Mrs. Harvey--which I AM now, but that's a new one for me!
Our dinner could be described with adjectives like succulent, delectable, or freekin' amazingly awesome. Another word to describe it would be "expensive"--and that's being modest! My delicious first course salad of mixed greens, hearts of palm, olive puree, fresh strawberries and brie cheese was $17!!! The food went down real easy, but the bill was pretty hard to swallow!
We were back in our room--with the sheets turned down and sweets on our pillows--by probably 9 pm, and snoring blissfully by 10!
