That seems like such and appropriate name for this activity of teaming up with your spouse for some sort of DIY home improvement task. Because after all, it's the weekend, and you'll probably be involved in a war within the first, oh say, 9 minutes of said activity. Don't worry though, it goes away once you see the results of your hard work (and combat!)
In all seriousness, we got along for this project mostly well--Dino is a very bossy job foreman! What we did was install a faux pressed tin backsplash in our kitchen. No fancy equipment required--you can buy the panels for about $18 a sheet (18x24) and then you'll need some heavy-duty double stick tape and a good utitilty knife or strong scissors (the scissors seemed to be easier and safer). You know that old adage "Measure twice, cut once?" I know why they say that--just sayin'.
We started our project after a big home made breakfast (which cost us more to make at home than it did to buy at the diner the day before!) around 11 am and finished up around 2 pm. The process is pretty easy and we are thrilled with the result--we keep thinking of other DIY projects to enhance the new backsplash--like crown mouldings around the cabinets, granite countertops and undercabinet lightings. But alas, those all cost money. But for the price, and for the time it took, our kitchen has come leaps and bounds from it's original state!
